CHALLENGE #158 PAPER ROSES

Hi! Everyone. Sorry it's been so long since I have posted but I have been extremely busy at work this week. So glad the weekend is here so I can craft.  Behind on a lot of projects. Such as this one, the challenge for this week at FCCB.

I used my new Elegant Edges cartridge and George and Basic Shapes.  The paper collection I used is DCWV, Chateau Lavender. I cut the oblong frame at 4" and the shadow frame at 5".  The collage image is from Geko Galz "Nature's Child". I love the images that they have.  The sentiment banner is stamped in Wisteria chalk by Colorbox. I also used this for inking the edges of the frame. The stamp I used is MCT "Bloom Where You Are Planted" set.
For the flower I cut 1 lavender and 1 cream card stock flowers at 2" from George and Basic Shapes. Then I alternated the colors and cut 1 each at 1 1/2"and 1".  I inked the edges and wet the cardstock so I could shape the petals.  I inserted a brad in the middle to keep the petals together and let it dry.  It's attached to the card with a glue dot.
The ribbon and lace are scraps from my stash. The stitching is purple glitter pen. I think this card is very Spring with the garden scene and flowers.

Join our Challenge this week and use your Cricut to cut out the flowers.  Can't wait to see what everyone created for this challenge at FCCB.

Bye, Bye, for Now

Challenge #156 at FCCB, April Showers

This week the challenge at FCCB is to use an umbrella on your project.  I have decided to submit a layout page from a scrapbook I have been working on for my niece.  I am sooo! behind. Her baby is a year old and I am just getting around to making this scrapbook from February last year. This challenge motivated me to get started and I am almost done. Yeah!

I used two Cricut cartridges for this layout, Celebrate with a Flourish for the umbrella and Country Life  for the banner. The umbrella was cut at 4" in three different colors and paper pieced.  I accented it with Stickle's in baby blue and turquoise.  The banner is cut in two sizes to layer and strung together with Martha Stewart twine in blue and white. I also used felt blue letters by Martha Stewart.  I got these for only a $1.00 at TJMaxx.  Needless to say I bought all three sets they had which was good since I needed that many to complete the scrapbook.  The invitation is from the baby shower.  Throughout the scrapbook I incorporated little memento's from the baby shower.

Here's the tip for this project.  I ran out of O's so I took the Q's and removed the tails to make O's.  When do you use Q's anyway? Not very often.

Join us this week with your umbrella project and as always have fun.
Bye, Bye for Now,

It Finally Feels like Spring

It seems Spring has finally come to my little corner of the world. Clear blue skies and 70 DEGREES!! I made this Spring card with flowers and ribbon. Here it is.

I put this together rather quickly. The paper I used is green base and oval Cordinations. Polka dot from K&Co, baby paper stack by Brenda Walton. I hand dyed the crinkle ribbon.  The oval was cut @ 2 1/2" from George and Basic Shapes and the scalloped oval from Storybook Cricut cartridge.  The sentiment is from My Creative Time. The flowers are Prima and I used adhesive pearls for the centers and the corners.

I am going to enter this card in the following challenges.
Go Fish Challenges  - #38 flowers
and Die Cuttin Divas - #109 sketch challenge
Wish me luck and join me there with your own creation.

Bye Bye for Now,

Fantabulous Cricut Crawl

Happy April Fools Day to everyone.
The challenge this week is to include a joke on your card. I have to admit this was rather difficult for me.  I couldn't decide what I wanted to do for this challenge.  This is my card. I used Create a Critter for the dinosaur and the boot and hats are cut from Paper Doll Dress Up. I cut everything a 3".  I was surprised that the same size worked between the two cartridges.

What do you call a dinosaur who wears a cowboy hat and boots?

Inside the card. The punch line.

I used coredinations papers for the base and dinosaur.  The patterned  paper is Paper from the Heart and I ran it through my Cuttlebug using my dots folder.  I used several punchs, EK Success corner rounder and 1 1/2" scallop circle and Martha Stewart 1" circle punch. The twine I used for this project is Martha Stewart and the button is from my stash.  For my joke and  pen work I used a blue glitter pen.  The blue polka dot banner is actually Trendy tape. And last but not least the google eye.

I would like to give some blog candy to one lucky person.
